What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. Our experienced skippers monitor weather and sea conditions closely. If conditions are unsuitable, we’ll offer you the option to reschedule for another day or receive a full refund.
Will I get wet?
Possibly! On our RIB’s we provide full waterproof suits and will do our best to keep you dry, but sea spray is part of the adventure. We recommend wearing warm layers and bring a windproof jacket.
What wildlife will we see?
Scotland’s waters are unpredictable and sightings can never be guaranteed. However, we have an excellent track record for spotting seals, porpoise, white-tailed sea eagles, deer, various seabirds, and occasionally whales, dolphins, and otters. Your skipper knows the best spots and will work hard to find wildlife for you.
Are tours suitable for children?
Yes! Children aged 4 and above are welcome on most tours. We have smaller-sized waterproof suits and life jackets. Many families tell us their Seafari tour was the highlight of their Scottish holiday. For private charters, we can sometimes accommodate younger children – please contact us to discuss.
Can I bring my camera?
Absolutely! Many guests bring cameras or phones. We recommend a waterproof case or strap to keep your device secure. The photo opportunities are spectacular, but remember to also take time to simply enjoy the experience.
Do I need to be able to swim?
No, swimming ability is not required. Everyone wears a life jacket at all times. However, you should be comfortable being on water and able to climb in and out of the boat.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially for peak season (June-August) and weekends. Popular time slots can fill up weeks in advance. However, as we operate a number of boats, we often have last-minute availability. It’s always worth checking.
